60's 70's Garage, Rock, Blues, Soul & Country

I live in College Station TX. I collect vinyl records starting back in the early 70's. I like many genres of music. Hooked on classic retro film. I listen mostly to music from the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's. See My Archive Favorites for a wealth of free music downloads. Previously all saved favorites were a simple text description until the new site makeover in 2015.

The Alcohol Helltones were a garage band from Victoria Texas that formed in 1996 and has since disbanded. Self described as laying that kinda drunk, sweaty, sometimes outta tune garage punk rock n roll music. (30 min.) Free legal mp3 download created through my podcast producers account at podsafe music network. No hassles, No bull, just a rock n roll journey through cyberspace thanks to bandwidth eating pulsations. Dog8mybag Stoned Again Productions, Austin Texas USA...

Florida punks Blast and the Detergents erupt from the swamplands once again with Brain Time Now, their 2nd full length album. 17 tracks of Lo-fi schizo garage punk and epic noisy rock n roll that brings to mind Richard Hell, Black Flag, Sonic Youth and The Nation of Ulysses. Epic riffs splattered in noisy feedback make this one a winner all around.   Buy the 12" Vinyl of Brain Time Now here: http://noclearrecords.blogspot.com/2012/02/brain-time-now-vinyl-lp.html

Don't freak out. It's Happy Hour down at the corner Freak Bar. The beer is cold and the jukebox is blasting the freakishly superb sounds of Barrence Whitfield & The Savages, King Khan, The Reigning Sound, Ty Segall, The Manxx, Stomping Nick, The Hex Dispensers, The Lot Lizards and more. You don't have to be a pinhead to appreciate this episode. But it helps.

Garage-punk band from Moscow. Founded in 2007. The idea was just to play raw punk and rock-n-roll as we all heard on New York Dolls early demos. Andrey worked in music mag and played bass in friendly heavy metal band. And suddenly understood - he's got something to say. Each song is a true story about streets, girls, drugs and so on. Mess. played lots of gigs in Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Kyiv, Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod. Some of gigs they can hardly remember. In 2010 the band recorded 1-st LP...

A collection of 1950s television clips (edited together by me!), featuring singers that Prince Vegeta hasn't heard of. Some of these singers were well-known at the time and are still remembered by those alive at the time. Some of these singers are noteworthy in some way. Some of them were obscure then and obscure now. Some of them don't matter in the slightest. But all of them are very talented! Over 20 singers, with clips from 14 different television series.

Summer's almost over. So here is a mix of oldies. Some are familiar, some are obscure, some are cuts not often heard and a few are songs I loved as a kid growing up in Cleveland. An interlude is provided by the Mama's And The Papa's and we have a Twist contest. So enjoy this mix while the weather is still warm.
